Felin Ganol

Felin Ganol

The area upstream towards from Solva is FELIN GANOL, 'Middle Mill', with its little bridge across the river, a chapel on the side of the hill, and a quarry well-known for miles around for the quality of its stone. Needing some stone for a rock garden, I contacted Alun at the quarry, and my friend Desi brought a few ton to the house in his JCB. Whilst we were laying it, we discovered one large piece was distinctly different form the rest . It transpired that it was gouged on the sides, and a geologist told me it was brought to Middle Mill by a glacier, and had travelled many hundreds of miles. It is now in the centre of the garden as a standing stone.
