Melin Trefin

Melin Trefin

MELIN TREFIN is on the coast road from Trefin to Saint Davids at a tiny inlet known as Aber Draw. Until early in this century it was a corn-mill, and there is a disused quarry and row of quarry workers' cottages nearby. I believe the cottages have been converted into one holiday cottage now; they must have been tiny before they were converted into one unit. A stone circle sits on top of a hillock, and because of the contours, seems to appear by magic on an ever-changing skyline when the viewer approaches. The artist Sarah Young, who exhibits and works with Nicola at the Saint Davids Studio Gallery, was brought up near here.
