Giclee Prints
We have invested heavily in our own giclee equipment, and have our own printmaking workshop given over exclusively to the production of these images.
They are individually printed, which is why we are sometimes able to produce them to size, to suit your individual requirements. Giclee printing has been around for some years now, and has become widely accepted by astute collectors, especially since David Hockney’s giclee work has become publicly available. We pride ourselves on having been at the forefront of this medium since spending over thirty-thousand pounds on the finest equipment we could buy.
We can also print on paper or canvas. A print on canvas, when varnished with a UV protective type varnish, is virtually indistinguishable from an original painting, but because of the time involved, and because they are sized and produced to order, virtually ‘one-offs’, they are quite expensive, (approximately twice to three times the price of the same size on paper). PWLL DERI is on the Pen Caer peninsula, and was a favourite walk of one of my childhood heroes, the artist John Piper. He owned two tiny cottages nearby, just under the rocky outcrop known as Garn Fawr

PEN CAER (III) came about as a painting because a new image was needed by the Gomer Press, who published a book on my work, ‘Approaches to Art’. I never tire of painting this remarkably beautiful headland. The highest outcrop is Garn Fawr, mentioned above.

GREEN LANE, TRETIO shows the three outcrops near Whitesands Bay in the distance, and a green lane (a grassy lane with a hedge-bank on either side).

G05 - South East from Garn Fawr
SOUTH EAST FROM GARN FAWR is one of a pair of images produced as a pair (but available separately), Both show the last light of late evening lighting up a particular high point, making use of the chiauscuro sometimes created at that time of day.

This original print was produced when we were in Hastings, as the two towns are only a few miles apart. The church on the hill is a landmark for miles around, and the red coloured house to the right was our old home (one of many when I was peripatetic). The image of the Stade (G20) makes a good pair with this picture.

CASTLEMORRIS is another Pembrokeshire image. It is only a few miles from our old home at Mabws Fawr, mentioned previously. When Professor Brian Morris was given his peerage, he chose ‘Lord Morris of Castle Morris’ as his title.
